Drop the needle on the nocturnes
tonight we torch the farm
this old heart of leaves and dead grass
starting to get warm
pedal sustain, damper control
veins the course of flames
looked out yonder long enough
from upstairs window panes
bag those oil rags up real tight
and we will sleep in ignorance tonight
Say Lord we never saw it coming
oh what a crying shame
darn near dried that shallow well
efforts all in vain
wet towel beatings broke our backs
lungs filled with ash
all our work and worry
disappearing in a flash
no one has to find out why
we'll just play dumb and we'll get one by
I will put on my best crying fit
you wring your hands make it look legit
tonight we torch the farm
she will come in from the west that howling wind
feeding the flames and we can begin again
tonight we torch the farm
Old dilapidated meadows
I've tilled the arid sands
the fates have looked upon me
and roughed up my hands
leaves of wilt, the roots let go
year after year
and I'm tired of living drowning
in my own damn tears
all these trials were one big urn
can't wait to watch this fucking place burn
I will put on my best crying fit
you wring your hands make it look legit
tonight we torch the farm
she will come in from the west that howling wind
feeding the flames and we can begin again
tonight we torch the farm
My hay has been made
my the choices I made
Our bed has been made
it's our's to take
we can take the whole world on
tonight
I will put on my best crying fit
you wring your hands make it look legit
tonight we torch the farm
she will come in from the west that howling wind
feeding the flames and we can begin again
tonight we torch the farm

about
Recorded in 4 days at Chaos Recorders, Ashley Pond and Greg Theilmann fully availed themselves of the Flim Flam Revue cast of musical characters for our premier 12" Vinyl release, pressed at 45 RPM for the finest in Hi-Fidelity sound.
If you are a Flim Flam fan and know how our shows work, you may be surprised at the sounds we went for on this record. These are full productions of songs you've come to know and love at our live shows, some of which are interpreted in entirely new ways. Yet, not to abandon the spirit of The Flim Flam entirely, Ashley recorded Wishing Well live in a single take, front to back. Backed by Greg, Chad Pittman and Aaron Brownwood, the album version is their second take, completely uncut, warts and all. Not ones to be pigeonholed, other songs on this album went for the full multi-track experience with saws, synthesizers, accordions, ambient and hook-filled electric guitars, ninja-chain weaponry (seriously) and whatever random weirdness we felt inspired to bring.
From the most stripped down takes to the biggest productions, we are all incredibly proud of the efforts made by our entire community in putting this album together, not the least of which is the audience that attends our shows and gives us their hard-earned cash in order to finance these intensive (and expensive) projects.
We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed creating it.
